| Lived on Prospect Road until 1966, then
immigrated to Canada. I have many fond memories of my younger
days playing in the fields behind our home and the freedom of
living in a small village...( that does not exist these days).
Returned to the UK with my husband in February but could not
find the time to visit. It will be next year for sure...can't
wait.

years, between 1980 and 2001. It is and was an excellent
place to grow up, I made some fantastic friends. It’s
a very friendly place with loads of shops and activities to do
for everyone. I would also say that Stony has the best
pubs ever!!

Comment: My Grandfather was born in Stony Stratford but moved to Preston in the late 20's due to lack of work. My great grandmother and great aunt remained in Stratford on The Green and in Frankston Avenue.
I have spent many happy times in Stony and still visit friends although not as often as I would like. As a child my great aunt was involved with the Merry Comrade (think it was raising funds for some charity) I used to get a star badge every year .
At the top of Frankston Ave were the allotments and my brother and I spent many happy hours there, we used to nurse the piglets and the egg man used to bring us double yoker eggs on his way past my aunts. |

| Comment: Moved to Stony at the age of 4 years
from Bridge Street, New Bradwell, as my father worked in the
Railway Works we out grew the houses there, so moved into a
brand new council house in Boundary Crescent. We later moved
to Debbs Close and I was married from there in 1970, moving
across the border into Bedfordshire in 1971. I now live in Dunstable
but have hankered after Stony all my married life, so intend
to return when I retire. People are correct about Stony it
gets into the blood and you just dont ever forget it. |

and my decision to move was influenced heavily by SS, i
regularly visit, shop , eat ,drink and make merry in the
winter with the wonderful Christmas lights , and Odells and
Castles where i get my coal and sundries, the very good
Flowershop, China Seas!, and the vaults bar...... its become a
family mantra

RAF Upper Heford. We remember these years as some of the most

Startford in 1973, went to Russel St sch, then St Mary
& St Giles, finally Radcliff.We lived in a house
on the High Street. My grandparents lived next door to
us. I have fond memories of playing in the fields at
the back of our house. The village was great to live
in and was quiet.S.S had started growing on a larger
scale just before I left in 1983. I remember the
saturday market,and the local sweet shop. There was
also a clothes shop where we used to get our party
