Shopping in Stony
Stratford
The shops in Stony Stratford are a delightful mix of retailers, both old and new. Some of the businesses have been in existence for hundreds of years and you can still see the original shop fittings. Here you will discover retailers not found in the average high street.
Don't forget to look above the shop fronts to appreciate the rich architectural history of the town. Parking
is free and you can download
a map of Stony Stratford's car parks.
The shops extend along Wolverton Road and into the historic Market Square.
A visit to the town's small arcades: Swinfen's Yard, Stratford Arcade and Timor
Court will reveal yet more small shops. Details of many of the
retailers in the town can be found on the
Stony Stratford business directory.
For gift shopping Stony Stratford has a great deal to offer and you'll be spoilt for choice when you come to order morning coffee or pick up a lunchtime sandwich from one of the many
teashops, pubs, hotels and snack
bars. There's a small market in Timor Court each
Saturday and a farmers' market in the Market
Square once a month.
Stony Stratford Business Association organises the famous
Christmas lights display
during December, the hanging baskets which adorn
the centre of town during the summer and bunting
to highlight the many special events and
festivals which take place here during the year.
Visit the official
town web site for community information.
